Quartz is not natural stone, it is made from natural stone. Bits of natural quartz are sorted by size, type, and color then unique blends are created by mixing combinations of the quartz pieces with different colors, glass/mirror/metal pieces, and resins. Once mixed, these blends resemble wet sand, and then go through a process of intense pressure and heat to create a slab of quartz. Those slabs are then cut and polished and checked for any specs of foreign material. It is a very detailed and complicated process, and the improvements in technology allow for constant invention of colors and blends. We stock our own line of quartz – LoMStone – and we also stock Caesarstone.
